Job Brief
As a Grounds Crew Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of landscaping and groundskeeping teams. This role requires hands-on leadership, effective communication, and a thorough understanding of landscaping practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing crews, assessing project needs, and providing high-quality service to ensure the aesthetic appeal and maintenance of outdoor spaces. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate groundskeeping and landscaping activities to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
- Review contracts and project specifications to determine labor, materials, and equipment requirements.
- Prepare detailed estimates for potential customers including labor, material, and machine costs.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate grounds crew staff, promoting best practices in landscaping and safety.
- Manage schedules and allocate resources efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer satisfaction.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding service methods, materials, and pricing.
- Maintain inventory of landscaping supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscape design, and grounds maintenance practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to read and interpret contracts, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Proficiency in estimating costs and managing budgets effectively.
- Familiarity with landscaping equipment and machinery, including maintenance protocols.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate relevant vehicles and machinery.
- Relevant certifications in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance are a plus.
