Job Brief
As a Grocery Light Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a light vehicle to transport groceries and merchandise from distribution centers to various delivery locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards while ensuring timely deliveries. Responsibilities
- Operate a light truck or van for grocery deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery schedules.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and reports, documenting mileage, delivery times, and any issues encountered.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients and addressing any delivery-related inquiries.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training related to logistics is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate state license for light vehicle operation.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably in the grocery or food service industry.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers effectively.
