The Green Sand Molder plays a critical role in the foundry industry by creating and forming wax or sand cores and molds essential for metal casting production. Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix sand, clay, and other materials to create green sand molds.
- Design and construct molds and cores based on specific casting requirements.
- Operate molding tools and equipment efficiently to produce high-quality molds.
- Inspect molds for defects and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and workflows.
- Document production processes and report any issues to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in foundry operations is a plus.
- Proven experience as a molder or in a similar role within a foundry environment.
- Strong understanding of molding principles and metal casting processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in a foundry setting.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
