Job Brief
As a Geoscientist, you will study the Earth’s composition, structure, and physical properties to address various environmental and resource-related challenges. You will utilize your expertise in geology, physics, and mathematics in exploring natural resources such as oil, gas, minerals, and groundwater, while also tackling issues related to waste disposal and land reclamation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in earth sciences, and experience in conducting field studies and research.
Responsibilities
- Conduct geological surveys and analyses to assess natural resource availability.
- Utilize geophysical techniques to evaluate subsurface conditions.
- Develop and implement research projects focusing on environmental challenges such as land reclamation and waste disposal.
- Analyze data from field studies, laboratory tests, and geological models.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support exploration and environmental projects.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and environmental regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior staff and interns in geological research methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Geology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in geological exploration, environmental assessments, or resource management.
- Strong proficiency in geological modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with geophysical methods and assessment techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Fieldwork experience and knowledge of safety protocols.
- Professional certification, such as a Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification, is a plus.
