Job Brief

As a Geophysical Prospecting Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting precise measurements and determining property boundaries to provide critical data on the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features. Your expertise will support various sectors, including engineering, mapmaking, mining, land evaluation, and construction. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a background in geophysics or geology, and experience with surveying instruments and data analysis software.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct geophysical surveys to assess land features and property boundaries using advanced surveying equipment.
  • Analyze collected data to produce detailed reports and maps for various engineering and construction projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and environmental scientists to ensure accurate data interpretation and application.
  • Utilize geophysical methods such as seismic, magnetic, and electrical resistivity to gather subsurface information.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments to ensure precision and reliability of measurements.
  • Prepare and present findings to clients and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in geophysical surveying.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Geophysical Surveyor or in a similar role with a focus on land surveying techniques.
  • Proficiency in using geophysical surveying equipment and software for data collection and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geophysical data.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Valid professional certification in surveying or geophysics is preferred.
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions and travel to various survey sites.
