Job Brief

The Geochemical Manager will oversee and coordinate geochemical research and development activities, focusing on the analysis of chemical processes within the Earth’s crust. This role requires extensive experience in geochemistry, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of environmental science and geology. The Geochemical Manager will lead a team of scientists and researchers, ensuring project timelines and objectives are met while adhering to best practices in safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct geochemical research projects in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate field sampling and laboratory analysis to assess geological and environmental samples.
  • Oversee data collection, interpretation, and reporting of geochemical analyses.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure project success.
  • Lead a team of geochemists and technicians, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and environmental scientists, to integrate geochemical data into broader projects.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all geochemical operations.
  • Stay current with advancements in geochemical technology and methodologies to enhance research capabilities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Geochemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geochemical research and project management.
  • Proficiency in geochemical software and analytical techniques, including mass spectrometry and chromatography.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification from a recognized geochemical or environmental organization is a plus.
