Job Brief
As a GED® Instructor, you will play a crucial role in educating out-of-school youth and adults seeking to earn their high school equivalency credential. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and delivering engaging lesson plans in basic education, literacy, and English as a Second Language (ESL) topics. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to individual learner needs and learning styles.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate academic improvement.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and fosters confidence.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and educational resources to enhance student engagement.
- Prepare students for GED® testing by covering essential subject areas such as mathematics, reading, writing, and science.
- Monitor and track student attendance and performance metrics to ensure program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other educational professionals and community organizations to support student success.
- Stay current with educational best practices, curriculum updates, and GED® testing requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring adult learners, particularly in GED® preparation.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse student populations.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Certification in adult education or GED® instruction is a plus.
- Ability to assess student needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
