Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and medical histories to diagnose gastrointestinal conditions.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Monitor and manage patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and families regarding gastrointestinal health, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay informed about advancements in gastroenterology through continuous education and training.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
- Board certification in Gastroenterology preferred or in the process of certification.
- Active medical license in the state of practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and healthcare teams.
- Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Ability to manage a diverse patient population and adapt care approaches accordingly.
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current with gastroenterological research and advancements.
