Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Gas Main Fitter to assemble, install, alter, and repair pipelines or pipe systems that transport water, steam, air, or other liquids and gases. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of mechanical control systems and experience in installing heating and cooling equipment. Responsibilities
- Assemble and install gas mains and related piping systems safely and efficiently.
- Alter existing pipelines and systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues in gas and liquid transport systems.
- Repair leaks and other malfunctions in gas mains and pipe systems using appropriate techniques.
- Install heating and cooling equipment, ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
- Utilize mechanical control systems for effective monitoring and regulation of gas flow.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while performing all tasks to minimize risks and hazards.
- Collaborate with team members and other trades to complete projects on time and within specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Gas Main Fitter or in a similar plumbing or mechanical role.
- Strong knowledge of gas pipeline installation and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with mechanical control systems and heating/cooling equipment.
- Relevant certifications or licenses for gas fitting and plumbing work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various environments.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle manual labor and heavy equipment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
