Job Brief

As a Furnace Converter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating systems, including oil burners, hot-air furnaces, and heating stoves. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems and components, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in heating and refrigeration systems, demonstrating technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair heating systems, including oil burners and hot-air furnaces, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in HVAC systems and refrigeration units, implementing effective solutions to restore functionality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heating equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Communicate with clients to assess their heating needs and provide expert recommendations for system upgrades or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, standards, and regulations regarding HVAC installation and repair.
  • Collaborate with team members and contractors to coordinate larger HVAC projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in heating and cooling technology.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Furnace Converter or similar role in HVAC installation and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of heating systems, refrigeration, and HVAC technologies.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling is a plus.
