Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Flight Test Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, constructing, and conducting tests on aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft. This role requires a strong foundation in aerospace engineering principles, along with experience in testing methodologies and equipment. The Flight Test Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance performance and safety, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute flight test plans for various aerospace vehicles, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Conduct performance evaluations and analyze test data to assess the adaptability of materials and systems.
- Collaborate with design engineers to recommend improvements to aircraft designs and testing procedures.
- Utilize simulation software and modeling techniques to predict flight behavior and outcomes.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on test results and findings for stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain testing equipment, ensuring reliability and accuracy in measurements.
- Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments to identify potential hazards during flight operations.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in flight testing technology and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Flight Test Engineer or in a similar engineering role within the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of flight dynamics, aerodynamics, and aircraft systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or similar).
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FAA or EASA requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical information to various stakeholders.
- Certification in flight testing or relevant professional engineering credentials is a plus.
