Job Brief
The Flight Systems Test Engineer is responsible for conducting comprehensive engineering tasks in the design, construction, and testing of aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft. This role requires proficiency in performing both basic and applied research to assess the adaptability of materials and equipment for aircraft design and manufacturing. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing of flight systems to ensure reliability and performance in aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft.
- Design and implement test plans, procedures, and protocols for various flight systems.
- Evaluate and analyze test data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate flight systems and components effectively.
- Perform research and development activities to innovate and enhance existing flight technologies.
- Recommend improvements in testing techniques and equipment to optimize performance and safety.
- Document test results and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
- Stay updated with industry advancements to ensure best practices in flight systems testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Flight Systems Test Engineer or in a similar engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of flight testing principles, methodologies, and regulations.
- Proficiency in using testing software and tools, along with data analysis skills.
- Experience with CAD software and simulation tools for design and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information effectively.
- Certifications in relevant flight testing methodologies (e.g., FAA certifications) are a plus.
