Job Brief
As a Fish and Wildlife Warden, you will play a crucial role in preserving and protecting fish and wildlife resources within designated areas. This position involves patrolling assigned territories to enforce fish and game laws, investigating wildlife-related damages, and compiling essential biological data. Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas to monitor compliance with fish and game laws and regulations.
- Investigate reports of wildlife-related damage to crops, property, and natural resources.
- Compile and analyze biological data for wildlife populations and habitat conditions.
- Educate the public on fish and wildlife conservation practices and legal requirements.
- Conduct field inspections and gather evidence for potential violations.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies on wildlife management initiatives.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of investigations and findings.
- Respond to public inquiries and assist in conflict resolution regarding wildlife issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in wildlife management, environmental science, or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in law enforcement, environmental conservation, or a related field is advantageous.
- Knowledge of fish and wildlife laws, regulations, and conservation principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and interpret biological data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the public and stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate various types of vehicles in remote areas.
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor duties and navigate rugged terrain.
- Completion of law enforcement training or certification in wildlife law enforcement is a plus.
