Job Brief
The Fire Operations Forester is responsible for enforcing fire regulations and conducting thorough inspections of forest areas to identify fire hazards. Responsibilities
- Enforce local, state, and federal fire regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
- Conduct inspections of forested areas to identify fire hazards and vulnerabilities.
- Recommend and implement forest fire prevention and control measures.
- Monitor and report on current weather conditions that may affect fire risks.
- Collaborate with firefighting agencies and local authorities during fire emergencies.
- Develop and maintain fire management plans and documentation.
- Educate the public on fire safety practices and regulations.
- Participate in training programs for wildfire prevention and response strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in forestry management or fire operations.
- Strong knowledge of fire regulations and forest management practices.
- Proficiency in GIS and fire management software tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in Wildfire Management or Fire Ecology is preferred.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and rugged terrain.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
