Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems and security wiring. This role requires a strong understanding of relevant codes and regulations to ensure compliance and safety. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in fire alarm technologies and possess the ability to troubleshoot complex systems effectively.
Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm systems and associated wiring in commercial and residential buildings.
- Program and configure fire alarm control panels according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and tests on fire alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Diagnose and repair faults in fire alarm systems and wiring as needed.
- Collaborate with contractors and other trades to coordinate installations and maintenance projects.
- Ensure all work complies with national and local fire safety codes and regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to clients regarding fire alarm system operation.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs performed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in fire alarm systems preferred.
- Proven experience as a fire alarm installer or similar role in the electrical or security field.
- In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems, wiring, and relevant safety codes.
- Certification in fire alarm installation (e.g., NICET certification) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
