Job Brief
As a Fermentation Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process by setting up, operating, and monitoring fermentation equipment, including continuous flow and vat-type systems. This position requires hands-on experience in managing equipment such as centrifuges, filter presses, and evaporating tanks to ensure the extraction and purification of products. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of fermentation processes in various industries, including dairy and beverages.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate fermentation equipment, including batch stills and fermenting tanks, ensuring proper function and safety standards.
- Monitor fermentation processes, adjusting parameters to optimize yield and product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fermentation machinery to minimize downtime.
- Perform quality control tests on samples, documenting results and making adjustments as necessary.
- Implement cleaning and sanitation procedures for equipment and production areas to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production techniques and enhance overall efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production processes, material usage, and equipment performance for reporting purposes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in food technology or chemical processing is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Fermentation Operator or in a similar role within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong understanding of fermentation principles and processes, including yeast management and microbial control.
- Familiarity with operating and maintaining fermentation equipment and machinery.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
