Job Brief
The Feed Mixer Operator is responsible for operating and controlling equipment to support agricultural activities, including the mixing and distribution of feed for livestock. This role requires a solid understanding of agricultural processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Operate feed mixing equipment to create balanced feed formulations for livestock.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on machinery and tools used in feed production.
- Coordinate with farm management to determine feed requirements based on livestock needs.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating equipment and handling feed materials.
- Assist in the transportation and distribution of feed to various livestock locations.
- Document feed production processes and report any discrepancies or equipment issues.
- Contribute to post-harvest tasks, including husking and shelling, as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional agricultural training or certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as a Feed Mixer Operator or in a similar agricultural role.
- Strong understanding of livestock nutrition and feed formulation.
- Ability to operate and maintain various agricultural machinery safely.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in a variety of weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications for operating agricultural equipment.
