Job Brief
The Feed Mill Lab Technician is responsible for supporting agricultural scientists in research related to plant, fiber, and animal studies, with a focus on enhancing animal nutrition and breeding practices. This role requires the technician to set up and maintain laboratory equipment, collect and prepare samples from crops and animals, and conduct various tests to improve crop yield and quality. Responsibilities
- Assist agricultural scientists in conducting research on plant and animal health, nutrition, and breeding.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment necessary for experiments.
- Collect samples from crops and animals for testing and analysis.
- Prepare specimens and document data accurately to support scientific experiments.
- Conduct tests to assess the quality and yield of crops and the nutritional value of animal feed.
- Analyze results and contribute to the development of strategies to enhance crop resistance to diseases and pests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments and findings, preparing reports as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Animal Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- Experience in laboratory settings, preferably in agricultural or life sciences.
- Proficient in laboratory techniques, including sample preparation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and animal nutrition is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
