Job Brief
As a Family Service Caseworker, you will play a crucial role in providing social services and support to enhance the emotional and psychological well-being of children and their families. This position requires a compassionate and skilled professional who can assess needs, coordinate resources, and implement programs to promote family stability and improve children’s academic performance. Ideal candidates will have experience in social work or a related field, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of families to identify social, emotional, and educational needs.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans to address the unique challenges faced by families.
- Provide direct support and resources to families, including access to counseling and educational programs.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between families, schools, and community organizations.
- Assist in the placement of children in foster care or adoption services when necessary.
- Advise and support parents in addressing issues such as misbehavior, truancy, and teenage pregnancy.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in family services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Relevant experience in case management, child welfare, or family services.
- Strong understanding of social service programs and community resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with families and stakeholders.
- Ability to assess situations and develop appropriate strategies and interventions.
- Knowledge of legal regulations and ethical guidelines in social work practice.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for fieldwork.
