Job Brief
As a Family Counselor, you will diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage and family systems. You will apply psychotherapeutic techniques and family systems theories to provide effective counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose mental and emotional disorders in individuals and families.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate individual, couple, and family therapy sessions to improve communication and resolve conflicts.
- Utilize psychotherapeutic techniques to support clients in coping with stress, anxiety, and relationship issues.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Educate clients and families on mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in family counseling or therapy.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques and family systems theories.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in maintaining confidential client records and documentation.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry best practices.
