Job Brief
The Facilities Engineer plays a crucial role in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of various building structures and facilities, including roads, railroads, airports, bridges, and water systems. This position requires a strong background in engineering principles, project management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, experience in infrastructure design, and proficiency in relevant software applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop engineering plans for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
- Oversee the construction and maintenance of facilities, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability and identify potential issues.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to develop integrated facility designs.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project presentations for stakeholders.
- Monitor the performance of existing facilities and implement upgrades or modifications as necessary.
- Utilize engineering software and tools for design, analysis, and project management.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices throughout all phases of the engineering process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or in progress.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities or civil engineering.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
