Job Brief

The Facilities Engineer plays a crucial role in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of various building structures and facilities, including roads, railroads, airports, bridges, and water systems. This position requires a strong background in engineering principles, project management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, experience in infrastructure design, and proficiency in relevant software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engineering plans for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Oversee the construction and maintenance of facilities, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability and identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to develop integrated facility designs.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project presentations for stakeholders.
  • Monitor the performance of existing facilities and implement upgrades or modifications as necessary.
  • Utilize engineering software and tools for design, analysis, and project management.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices throughout all phases of the engineering process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or in progress.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities or civil engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
