The Expeditionary Airfield Systems Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of essential equipment involved in aircraft carrier takeoff and landing operations. This role requires hands-on experience with catapults, arresting gear, and associated mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain aircraft launch and recovery systems, including catapults and arresting gear.
- Install and maintain visual landing aids to ensure safe aircraft operations.
- Test and troubleshoot launch and recovery equipment using electric and mechanical test equipment and hand tools.
- Activate airfield arresting systems, such as crash barriers and cables, during emergency landing scenarios.
- Direct aircraft launch and recovery operations through hand or light signal communications.
