Job Brief

The Excavating Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of construction and extraction workers on various excavation projects. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate schedules, equipment usage, and labor resources to optimize productivity.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess progress, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Provide training and guidance to construction workers on excavation techniques and safety practices.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to report on project status and address any issues.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize risks and accidents on site.
  • Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including daily reports, equipment logs, and safety inspections.
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively to ensure cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Excavating Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of excavation equipment, techniques, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and direct personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with project management software and scheduling tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, heavy equipment operation).
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
