Job Brief
The Event AV Operator plays a crucial role in the successful execution of live and recorded events by setting up, maintaining, and dismantling audio and video equipment. This role requires hands-on experience with microphones, sound speakers, mixing boards, video cameras, and related electronic equipment. Responsibilities
- Set up and configure audio and video equipment for a variety of events, including concerts, meetings, and presentations.
- Operate and monitor sound and video systems to ensure optimal performance during events.
- Conduct thorough checks of all equipment before and after events to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently during live events.
- Collaborate with event planners and other technical staff to meet specific AV requirements.
- Maintain inventory of all AV equipment, ensuring all items are in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while handling and operating equipment.
- Assist in the dismantling and packing of equipment after events, ensuring everything is accounted for and stored properly.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an AV Operator or similar role in live event settings.
- Strong technical knowledge of audio and video equipment and systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Familiarity with sound and mixing boards, microphones, cameras, and video servers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A degree or certification in audio-visual technology, broadcasting, or a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of digital media formats and video editing software is advantageous.
