Job Brief
As an Environmental Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in monitoring environmental conditions and investigating pollution sources that may impact public health. This position requires hands-on experience in conducting laboratory and field tests, analyzing samples of gases, soil, water, and other materials. Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory analyses and field tests to evaluate environmental samples for pollutants.
- Collect samples of air, water, soil, and hazardous materials for testing and analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation regarding testing results.
- Monitor environmental conditions and assess the impact of human activities on ecosystems.
- Support environmental scientists and engineers in developing strategies for pollution control.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental laws during testing procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory and field equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Participate in research projects aimed at advancing environmental science practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience with laboratory and field-testing procedures related to environmental monitoring.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and pollution control methodologies.
- Proficiency in using scientific equipment and laboratory instruments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed.
- Certification in hazardous materials handling is a plus.
