Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable English Substitute Teacher to provide quality education on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the regular teacher’s lesson plans, maintaining classroom order, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role requires a strong background in English language arts, effective communication skills, and the ability to engage students of varying ages and abilities. Previous experience in a classroom setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of education.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
- Assess student understanding and provide feedback to support learning objectives.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to foster a collaborative educational experience.
- Prepare and organize classroom activities, ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Document student attendance and report any concerns regarding student performance or behavior.
- Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the school district.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching permit in the relevant state.
- Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom settings and student needs quickly.
- Experience working with students in an educational environment is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
