Job Brief
As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B), you will play a critical role in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. You will assess injuries and illnesses, administer basic emergency medical treatment, and ensure the safe transport of patients to medical facilities. This role requires a strong foundation in emergency response protocols and effective communication skills. Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ conditions by conducting thorough evaluations and triaging injuries and illnesses.
- Administer basic emergency medical care, including CPR, first aid, and wound management.
- Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment and vehicles to ensure readiness for patient transport.
- Effectively communicate with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families regarding care procedures.
- Document patient care and incident reports accurately for compliance and continuity of care.
- Assist in lifting and transporting patients to medical facilities while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with other emergency response teams to provide comprehensive patient care in crisis situations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with EMS protocols and technologies.
Requirements
- Current certification as an EMT-B from a recognized governing body.
- Valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, equipment, and protocols.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and team members.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make quick, informed decisions.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform essential duties, including lifting patients.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Previous experience in emergency medical services or related healthcare roles is an asset.
