Job Brief

The Employee Development Director is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating comprehensive training and development programs within the organization. This leadership role requires a strong background in employee training strategies and a passion for fostering professional growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in workforce development, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to implement effective learning solutions that enhance employee performance and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs that align with organizational goals and employee development needs.
  • Assess training effectiveness and continuously improve learning initiatives based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Lead a team of training professionals, providing direction and support to ensure high-quality training delivery.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and design targeted training solutions.
  • Manage the budget for training and development activities, ensuring resource optimization.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and other learning opportunities to promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in employee development and training methodologies.
  • Evaluate and select external training vendors and partners to enhance internal capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in employee development, training management, or organizational development.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering effective training programs and adult learning theories.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies.
  • Certifications in training and development (e.g., CPTD, ATD) are a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training needs and measure outcomes effectively.
