Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary School Inclusion Teacher to provide tailored educational support to elementary students with learning, emotional, or physical disabilities. The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized lesson plans that promote academic, social, and life skills while fostering an inclusive classroom environment. This role requires a strong background in special education and experience working with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and assessments for inclusive classrooms.
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to inform instructional practices and interventions.
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and social skills development.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and support staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Support students with personal care and mobility needs as required.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of student goals.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and inclusion strategies through professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education for elementary grades.
- Strong understanding of various disabilities and the ability to implement appropriate interventions.
- Experience using assistive technology and adaptive instructional materials.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and educational professionals.
- Proficient in developing and implementing IEPs and understanding legal compliance related to special education.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
