Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat various cardiovascular diseases, with a specialization in electrophysiology.
  • Perform advanced procedures, including catheter ablation and pacemaker or defibrillator implantation.
  • Interpret results from electrophysiology studies and echocardiograms to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with arrhythmias and other heart rhythm disorders.
  • Educate patients and their families about heart health, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in clinical research and contribute to advancements in electrophysiology techniques.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to compliance standards and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Cardiology, with additional training in Electrophysiology.
  • Board certification in Cardiology and Electrophysiology preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiological principles.
  • Proficient in performing advanced cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advancements in cardiovascular medicine.
