Job Brief
The Electron Beam Welder Setter is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining welding, soldering, and brazing machines to ensure high-quality metal product assemblies. This role requires expertise in electron beam welding techniques, precision handling of metal components, and knowledge of laser-beam machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, contributing to efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate electron beam welding machines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
- Operate welding robots and laser cutting machines, monitoring processes for quality control and safety compliance.
- Inspect welded components and assemblies for structural integrity and dimensional accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop welding procedures and improve production efficiency.
- Document production data and maintain records of each welding process for quality assurance and reporting.
- Train junior staff on welding techniques and machine operation to enhance team capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electron Beam Welder Setter or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, particularly electron beam welding and laser cutting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in welding and metal fabrication.
- Technical certification in welding or related field preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
