Job Brief
As an Electrocardiogram Technician, you will play a crucial role in conducting diagnostic tests on patients’ pulmonary and cardiovascular systems. Responsibilities
- Conduct electrocardiograms (ECGs) to monitor and assess cardiac health.
- Assist healthcare professionals in performing cardiac catheterizations and other diagnostic procedures.
- Administer pulmonary function tests to evaluate lung capacity and function.
- Prepare and maintain testing equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning properly.
- Document patient information and test results accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding test procedures and post-test care.
- Collaborate with medical staff to interpret test results and develop patient care plans.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, technologies, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Certification as an Electrocardiogram Technician (e.g., from the National Healthcareer Association).
- Proficient in performing ECGs and related diagnostic tests.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular and pulmonary anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for accurate record-keeping.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
