Job Brief
The Electrical Power Station Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and optimizing electrical power generation systems. This position requires a solid understanding of electrical and electronic theory to design, build, troubleshoot, and modify electrical components, circuitry, and machinery. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably. Responsibilities
- Apply electrical and electronic theory to design and develop power station components and systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Modify existing electrical systems to improve efficiency and comply with safety regulations.
- Assist engineering staff in evaluating design proposals and implementing changes as necessary.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities in compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training in electrical engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in a power generation environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and control systems.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to electrical work.
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools for troubleshooting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, NETA) are a plus.
