Job Brief
The Electric Sewer Cleaning Machine Operator is responsible for the effective cleaning and maintenance of sewer lines, septic tanks, and drainage systems using electric cleaning machinery. This role requires hands-on experience in performing repairs on underground piping and ensuring proper functionality of sanitation systems. Responsibilities
- Operate electric sewer cleaning machines to efficiently clean and clear blockages in sewer lines and drains.
- Inspect and assess the condition of septic tanks, drains, and underground piping to identify necessary repairs.
- Perform repairs on septic tanks and sewer lines, including patching walls and replacing damaged drain tiles.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electric sewer cleaning equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while working in confined spaces and hazardous environments.
- Document work performed and maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients regarding service needs and recommendations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on industry standards and technologies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in plumbing or waste management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a sewer cleaning machine operator or in a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with electric cleaning equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL may be required.
- Knowledge of safety practices and regulations in sanitation and waste management.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
