Job Brief

As an Elderly Companion, you will provide compassionate and personalized assistance to individuals with disabilities or illness, ensuring they receive support in their daily activities. This role requires experience in personal care and a strong understanding of the needs of elderly clients. Key responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for clients in their homes or community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support clients with ambulation and mobility to promote independence and safety.
  • Prepare nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs of clients.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social events, and community activities.
  • Monitor clients’ health and report any changes to appropriate family members or healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided and client progress.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in caregiving is a plus.
  • Experience in elderly care or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and assist with mobility as needed.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record may be required for transportation duties.
  • Background check clearance is mandatory prior to hiring.
