Job Brief
The Egg Gatherer is responsible for the collection and handling of eggs in various agricultural settings, including farms and hatcheries. Responsibilities
- Collect and inspect eggs from poultry, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Feed, water, and care for poultry and other farm animals to promote health and productivity.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation in animal housing areas to prevent disease.
- Monitor and record animal health, including any signs of illness or injury.
- Assist in managing breeding programs and facilitate hatching processes as required.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides under guidelines to ensure animal health.
- Participate in herding, grazing, and other handling activities as needed for livestock management.
- Maintain accurate records of egg production and animal health for reporting purposes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in animal science or agriculture are a plus.
- Proven experience in animal care or agricultural roles, particularly with poultry.
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices and biosecurity protocols.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent observational skills to detect signs of disease or distress in animals.
- Ability to operate farm equipment and handling tools safely and effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with farm staff.
- Basic record-keeping and reporting skills to track egg production and health reports.
