Job Brief

As an Echocardiographic Technologist, you will play a vital role in producing ultrasonic recordings of the heart and surrounding vascular structures for diagnostic purposes. This position requires a strong understanding of echocardiography techniques and equipment, along with a keen attention to detail. Ideal candidates will have a background in cardiovascular technology, experience with ultrasound imaging, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound procedures to assess cardiac function and structure.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining the procedures and ensuring their comfort.
  • Operate echocardiographic equipment and ensure quality imaging standards are met.
  • Analyze images and recordings to identify any abnormalities and assist in diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to interpret results and recommend further diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of echocardiographic findings.
  • Stay updated with advancements in echocardiography technology and best practices.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures during all procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in operating echocardiographic equipment and interpreting ultrasound images.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular pathologies.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification and knowledge of emergency protocols.
