As a Diving Judge, you will play a crucial role in officiating competitive diving events, ensuring compliance with established regulations and maintaining the integrity of the sport. Responsibilities
- Officiate diving competitions by evaluating dives based on technical execution and adherence to rules.
- Make informed decisions regarding penalties and infractions in accordance with established diving regulations.
- Collaborate with other judges and officials to maintain consistency and fairness during competitions.
- Provide constructive feedback to divers and coaches to improve performance and understanding of rules.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of diving techniques, safety protocols, and rule changes.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to competition outcomes and officiating decisions.
- Assist in training and mentoring new judges to uphold high standards in officiating.
- Participate in pre-competition meetings to discuss event logistics and judging criteria.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a diving judge or in a similar officiating role in competitive sports.
- Thorough understanding of diving rules, scoring systems, and safety regulations.
- Certification from a recognized diving federation or governing body is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make quick, fair decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey decisions and feedback.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of officials and coaches.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry practices.
- Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
