Job Brief
The Distribution Center Manager oversees the efficient operation of warehouse and distribution activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations. Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and direct transportation, storage, and distribution operations to maximize efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics processes and reduce costs.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate inventory management practices.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise distribution center staff, fostering a culture of safety and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding transportation and distribution.
- Analyze key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance supply chain effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with transportation providers and other external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or distribution management.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and optimizing warehouse operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve operational performance.
- Certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD) are preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.
