Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Disaster Medicine Physician to provide critical medical care during emergency situations. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to make immediate medical decisions, evaluate, stabilize, and direct the care of patients in high-pressure environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in emergency medicine and possess strong leadership skills to coordinate with emergency medical staff effectively.
Responsibilities
- Make rapid medical assessments and decisions to prevent death or further disability in disaster situations.
- Provide immediate recognition, evaluation, and stabilization of patients in emergency conditions.
- Direct emergency medical personnel within the emergency department or disaster response teams.
- Develop and implement emergency care protocols to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
- Educate and train medical staff on disaster response and emergency medicine best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance overall emergency preparedness and response efforts.
- Document patient care processes and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Participate in continuous medical education and training related to disaster medicine.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with a focus on emergency medicine or a related field.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine or a relevant specialty.
- Current state medical license and DEA registration.
- Proven experience in disaster medicine or emergency response, with a minimum of [X] years in practice.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
