Job Brief

As a Diesel Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling diesel engines in buses, trucks, and other vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel mechanics, troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in maintaining various types of diesel engines, including automotive and marine applications. Ideal candidates will possess relevant experience and technical expertise in diesel engine repair, as well as a commitment to safety and quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel engines and related systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buses, trucks, and other diesel-powered equipment.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults and determine necessary repairs.
  • Overhaul engines and replace worn or damaged components as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and best practices in diesel mechanics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a diesel mechanic training program is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Service Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems, including fuel, electrical, and cooling systems.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in diesel repair.
  • ASE certification in diesel technology or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
