Job Brief
As a Diabetes Educator, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing health education programs aimed at empowering individuals, families, and communities to achieve and sustain healthy lifestyles. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive diabetes education programs tailored to diverse populations.
- Assess community health needs using quantitative and qualitative data to inform program development.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health education initiatives and adapt as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create a supportive environment for diabetes management.
- Serve as a resource for individuals, families, and other healthcare providers regarding diabetes care.
- Administer and manage fiscal resources allocated for health education programs.
- Promote policies and practices that encourage healthy lifestyles within the community.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and group discussions on diabetes management and prevention.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) or equivalent credential.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in diabetes education or chronic disease management.
- Strong understanding of diabetes management guidelines and educational strategies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and community engagement.
- Ability to analyze health data and adapt programs based on community needs.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for health education delivery.
- Knowledge of public health policies and their impact on diabetes care.
