Responsibilities
- Perform surgical procedures on the oral and maxillofacial regions to treat diseases, injuries, or defects.
- Diagnose oral and maxillofacial issues using advanced diagnostic techniques.
- Assess and plan surgical interventions to enhance patient function and appearance.
- Monitor patient health and recovery post-surgery, providing necessary follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental surgery techniques and technologies.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- Valid state license to practice dentistry and board certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- Strong knowledge of surgical techniques, anesthesia procedures, and patient management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Proficient in using advanced dental technology and imaging software.
