Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Delicatessen Department Manager to oversee and coordinate activities in our deli department. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the delicatessen department, ensuring high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
- Manage inventory levels, including purchasing and stock control, to optimize product availability and minimize waste.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of deli staff to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain operational efficiency.
- Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to achieve sales targets and improve profitability.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, analyzing financial reports to inform decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with upper management on strategic initiatives and marketing efforts to promote deli offerings.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Delicatessen Manager, Department Manager, or in a similar retail management role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on staff training and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Proficiency in budgeting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and retail management software.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in food safety or management are a plus.
