Job Brief
As a Custom Harvester, you will play a vital role in supporting agricultural operations through the efficient operation of various farming equipment. You will be responsible for tasks such as tilling soil, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, as well as managing livestock and conducting post-harvest activities. Ideal candidates will possess experience in agricultural machinery operation, a strong understanding of crop management, and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions. Responsibilities
- Operate and control agricultural equipment for tilling, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
- Manage and care for livestock, including feeding, herding, and maintaining health standards.
- Perform tasks associated with crop baling, hay bucking, and other harvesting processes.
- Conduct post-harvest activities, including husking, shelling, threshing, and ginning.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and serviced to prevent downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor crop conditions and implement appropriate measures to optimize yield and quality.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and agricultural best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and improve operational effectiveness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant agricultural training or certifications preferred.
- Proven experience operating agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Knowledge of crop production and livestock management practices.
- Ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions and physical environments.
- Valid driver’s license; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
