Job Brief
As a Curve Saw Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to wood sawing machines, including advanced computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality production standards. The ideal candidate will possess experience in woodworking machinery, strong technical skills, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate wood sawing machines for optimal performance and precision.
- Operate CNC equipment to execute cutting patterns and specifications accurately.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as necessary to ensure high-quality output.
- Inspect finished products for defects and take corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain and troubleshoot various wood sawing machines to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Document production data and machine performance for reporting and quality assurance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in woodworking or machinery operation preferred.
- Proven experience operating wood sawing machines, including CNC equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with woodworking techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary.
