Job Brief

The Court Messenger is responsible for efficiently picking up and delivering messages, documents, packages, and other items within a legal establishment or directly to external business concerns. This role requires a reliable individual with a keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills, who can navigate various transportation methods, including foot, bicycle, motorcycle, automobile, and public transport. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver legal documents and packages to designated offices and departments in a timely manner.
  • Transport important messages and materials to clients, courts, and other legal entities.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including timestamps and recipient confirmations.
  • Ensure the secure handling and confidentiality of sensitive documents throughout the delivery process.
  • Coordinate with staff to prioritize delivery schedules and manage urgent requests effectively.
  • Report any delivery issues or discrepancies to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Utilize various transportation methods safely and efficiently to complete deliveries.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines while operating vehicles or using public transportation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a messenger or courier role, preferably within a legal or corporate environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, along with knowledge of local traffic laws.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
  • Familiarity with using GPS and navigation tools for optimal route planning.
  • Physical stamina to walk, stand, or use a bicycle/motorcycle for extended periods as needed.
