Job Brief

The Core Stripper is responsible for efficiently creating and forming wax or sand cores and molds used in the production of metal castings within foundries. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in core-making techniques. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in foundry operations and demonstrate a strong understanding of mold design and casting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up core-making equipment and tools for production.
  • Formulate wax or sand mixtures according to specifications for core production.
  • Monitor the curing process of molds and cores to ensure quality standards.
  • Inspect finished cores and molds for defects and make necessary adjustments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on core-making machinery and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize core designs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to adhere to safety regulations.
  • Document production metrics and report any discrepancies during the core-making process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in foundry operations is a plus.
  • Proven experience in core-making and mold production within a foundry environment.
  • Strong understanding of materials used in core production, including wax and sand.
  • Familiarity with core-making equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong adherence to safety protocols and quality control standards.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation purposes.
