Job Brief
As a Continuous Mining Machine Miner, you will be responsible for operating advanced self-propelled mining machinery to extract coal, metal, and nonmetal ores from underground mines efficiently. This role requires hands-on experience with mining equipment, strong attention to safety regulations, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, a solid understanding of mining operations, and a commitment to teamwork and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate continuous mining machines to extract minerals and materials from the mine face.
- Load extracted materials onto conveyors, shuttle cars, or trucks for further processing.
- Monitor equipment performance and diagnose mechanical issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate mining activities and optimize production efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mining equipment.
- Document operational data and report any irregularities to supervisors.
- Participate in emergency response drills and safety training programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in mining technology or machinery operation is preferred.
- Proven experience operating continuous mining machines or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of mining safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to work underground in challenging conditions and maintain physical stamina.
- Technical proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mining equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid mining certification or operator’s license may be required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
