Job Brief
As a Contact Lens Fitter, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional optical care by designing, measuring, fitting, and adapting contact lenses and frames based on clients’ prescriptions. This position requires expertise in assisting clients with the insertion, removal, and maintenance of contact lenses, as well as guiding them in selecting suitable frames. Responsibilities
- Design and fit contact lenses and frames according to written optical prescriptions and specifications.
- Assist clients with inserting, removing, and caring for contact lenses.
- Guide clients in selecting appropriate frames based on personal style and optical needs.
- Measure customers for the correct size of eyeglasses, ensuring proper alignment with facial and eye measurements.
- Prepare work orders for the optical laboratory, detailing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses into frames.
- Verify the accuracy of finished lens spectacles, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Adjust frame and lens positions to achieve optimal fit and comfort for clients.
- Shape or reshape frames as necessary to accommodate individual client requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contact Lens Fitter or in a similar optical role.
- Certification as a licensed optician or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of optical prescriptions, lens types, and fitting techniques.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with optical laboratory processes and equipment.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records and processing orders.
- Ability to stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear and contact lens technology.
